FIDELITY OF A SERVANT

FIDELITY OF A SERVANT
BY: RD. SABAT S. NABABAN
Reading: Ams.31: 10-13,19-20,30-31; 1 Tes.5: 1-6; Mat. 25: 14-30

Hearing the word servant perhaps that arise in our mind is that they are often treated unfairly, they are looked down upon, those who connect their lives from the leftovers of their master or mistress who keep baby so do not bother to enjoy dinner at the restaurant. In short, slave, servant, maid, in the eyes of the social strata is low class and do not have voting rights in addition to running what is ordered by his employer. Is there anything positive that can be followed from a slave? Compliance slave master will run is a positive thing that gladdens the heart of her employer. A servant has the skill, tenacity, patience and self-control, though not appear dapper and work behind. Just because the loyalty of a hambalah the employer's house into a neat and everything is available. This certainly applies to a faithful servant of evil different story.
Compliance Jesus entirely on the will of the Father shows an example of servanthood of Jesus who consider equality with God something to be grasped not. Jesus humbled himself to death on the cross, but the God of Jesus crowned with glory. Gospel reading today gave an overview of two different characters servants in running the trust given by the master. A servant who got great confidence to maintain and develop the five talents and eventually gain five talents certainly not an easy matter. Discharge that responsibility in the loyalty and perseverance of course inconvenient personally, but it is very encouraging for his master. Similarly, the slave who won the trust of two talents. Wages for the faithful servant his master is running will take part in the excitement of her master and gets greater confidence. Instead lazy servant, did not want to bother going to be punished even what was entrusted to him taken back.
Through baptism we receive, God has entrusted to us the ability to develop our lives according to the will of God. Our ability as faithful to one another is not the same. If we reflect on our own lives before God how we develop our potential? Have our lives fruitful abundance and faithfully we strive to develop it so that when the time came we were also allowed to enjoy kebahgiaan God? Or even bury our own potential and do not want to bother with the will of God? Be faithful in a very small way for us to gain the trust of the things bigger. Let's draw strength from Jesus who sacrificed Himself in the image above Bread and Wine Altar so abundant in our lives of faith, hope and love. amen
