WITH GREAT FAITH

WITH GREAT FAITH
MARK 10: 46-5

Every day we pray. There are people who pray three times a day. There are even five or seven times. In fact, there are quite many times, countless. In our pray, we often invoke this and that to God. Some of our prays are fulfilled. But we certainly have experienced, that quite often, that our prays do not seem to be heard by God. Why not granted? Because we are lack of faith pleading. We must learn from Bartimaeus.
When he heard Jesus was passing by, Bartimaeus cried out, "Jesus Son of David, have mercy on me." He must have heard the story of Jesus. About people who cured him or about the miracles he did. He believed that Jesus would be able to do something for him. When he cried out, people call it. Silence. They think, "People who ngak nothing is really haphazard tell the teacher? Do you think you are? However, Bartimaeus shouted louder, "Son of David, have mercy on me." He truly believes that Jesus would do something for him. Great faith helped him to continue begging.
Jesus listened to his screams. Indeed, Jesus  always listen to the heart cry of the oppressed. He sees the depth of people's hearts. Jesus told people to call him. Bartimaeus immediately removed his cloak. It was all she owned, but she took it off. It comes with not having anything to Jesus. He came humbly. Only by bringing the faith.
"What do you want that I do for you?" Said Jesus. "Master, that I can see," he replied. Without doing anything, without any rites, Jesus immediately said, "Go your faith has made you whole." Jesus looked at what is in the hearts of Bartimaeus: faith. Great faith! He pleaded with great faith, and the Lord Jesus hear the petition was accompanied by a great faith.
We perhaps quite often protested to God, "Why are not my prayers answered?" But maybe we rarely ask, "Have I prayed in faith? We are often lack faith in prayer. Prayer Requests accompanied by the great faith of God will be heard. There are many stories that have proved the truth of this. One of these prayers St. Monica, mother of St. Augustine. Before the converted St Augustine is a living with yippee, a smooth operator, do not believe in God. His mother many years of praying in faith for Augustine to him repent. And indeed, the prayer accompanied with great faith in God listened. Augustine finally converted, and even become the greatest saints of the Church.
Bartimaeus pleading in faith, and God listened. St. Monica prayed with great faith, and God granted it. We pray with great faith, God will listen! (Reflections Ruah 2012)
