ALWAYS BE ALERT
Mark 13:24-32
BY: RD ALF. VERY ARA

It's quite a lot of Christians who are preaching or teaching about the end of times.

They do not give predictions, but also assert certainty about the end of times.

Some call the year, month, day and hour when even the world to end.

They collected a lot of people who come together as one big group.

Most of all believe the exact time of the doomsday. They preach repentance.

They do not want to work because they feel there is no point anymore because doomsday is approaching.

They prayed and ask for forgiveness of their sins. They distributed leaflets, posters of the world will be destroyed shortly perish of Jesus Christ shortly come to punish the sinners.

The results of their work are: a lot of people become agitated, restless, confused, between believing or not.

Surprisingly, so many days already called Judgment Day, but the day passed without reality as predicted: the world is yet to end.

Currently, there are also those who say that the world is Resurrection and the Son of God will come. Most people start angry, edgy.

Our question: When exactly will the world end? When the Son of man shall come in his glory?

Jesus himself never spoke of the end or the end of the world. However, He himself never cited year, month, date and day.

He just talked about what happened at the end of the world. If there is a call time for sure, it's just a human creation, not from God.

The world is doomed to extinction. Everything in this world has a beginning and end. Nothing is eternal in this world. And the time comes, the world will end. When?

No one knows. Jesus himself said: "But about that day or hour no one knows, the angels in Heaven, and the Son either was not, but only the Father."

In other words, about the time of the Hour is a great mystery. Only God knows, there is no such thing as a secret and hidden for Him.

We need to discuss is what we should do to commemorate the Day of Judgment. One thing is certain: We Must Repent.

We do not need to wait time, end time new converts.

If the apocalypse came and our new converts, it has no meaning because we repent not for doomsday, but for the safety and happiness of our present and future.

Forced conversion style apocalypse is widely practiced because a lot of people. Because officials will visit in the near future, the roads were repaired, cleaned.

If officials do not come, left the road and muddy potholes unpalatable. In fact, the way it is beneficial for all, not for the officials.

If any inspection work in a short time, the new work diligently, make improvements here and there.

If there is no inspection, it works ngalur ngidul. In fact, a neat and orderly work not for the officers, but to us.

We are required to always be ready, at any time.

We are alert, not for the sake of others, but for the sake of our own safety and happiness.

GOD NEVER DEMANDED
MARK 12: 38-44
BY: RD. SILVESTER ASAN MARLIN

Dear brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ,

There are people who like to give charity to others and are proud to announce the amount they give it.

The greater number of contributions, the more they are proud of their family and themselves.

On the other hand, there are also people who also love to give to others but never want to tell other people how much and may be the amount could be large. He did it quietly for the sake of others.

They think that what it was to be given their right to receive, and they are happy with it.

Even more far they contemplate that what they have now is the free gift of God that fit that is given for free as well to others who are equally God's creation.

 Dear brothers and sisters,

God has given us a lot to us but He never tells anyone that He is doing good.

On the other hand, God gives a man what is needed and he never pulls or asks for it back.

Even God asks us to precisely dispenses His gift to others who are in need.

Attitudes and ways of God that is best for us to imitate and emulate.

Formalities in life and action is important but the most important is the intention and heart and to act sincerely and selflessly.

People are respected not for clothing, rank or position but most of all for the faith and moral life is good and right. So let us ponder these words,

"But when you give alms don't let your left hand know what your right hand's wrought.

Let the alms on the sly, then your Father who saw the hidden will reward you"
(Matthew 6: 3-4).

REASONING ABOUT RELIGION
(Mark 12:28 b-34)
The question to Jesus, "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" that would make people come to think, of the many laws in the Torah, which is the most basic. In its original formulation, the question actually reads: "Master, what kind of commands can be called great in the Torah?"

So the question is not which one, but the kind, type, category.

This question leads to the characteristics that make certain commands can be said major command. It's supposed commandments in the Torah is not the same weight. The lawyer wanted to know what Jesus has the ability to weigh the weight of the commandments, and not just the origin of quotes here and there.
Jewish intellectuals realize that not all rules of the same weight. Jesus also said on another occasion this sensitivity, for example, the law of the Sabbath (Matthew 12:1-14).

There sanctify the Sabbath obligation subordinated to the obligations of sacrifice and carry out mercy. Which principle understand basic commands that one more than the other?

Questions are answered Jesus by expressing two orders mentioned as the most important commandment. Both orders were quoted from Deuteronomy and Leviticus, two books of the Torah.

In the first case, the command there after confirmation of the unity of the Lord God of Israel (Deut. 6:4, which is also quoted in Mark 12:29).

This assertion is experienced as love Him with full commitment - that is the heart, soul, and strength (Deuteronomy 6: 5 - insertion of "all akalbudimu" in Mark 12:30 see description below). The command to love the Lord God with the fullest included verses that must be prayed twice a day (morning and evening) by devout Jews.

The love of the neighbor command of Lev 18:8 quoted and emphasized as the main command of the latter.

In Mark's version, they added that the scribes justify Jesus and instead insisted that the two orders were overcome all burnt offerings and other sacrifices (Mark 12:32-33). Such awareness makes Jesus said that the man was not far away from the kingdom of God. He had seen a wider horizon of religious life.

Not just running the sacrifice, but also an effort to understand one another as equally aware of God. This is what allowed him to love God with the whole. This is what makes it closer to the divine presence.

The talk that night and then increasingly centered on the ability to show what it's core Jesus' teachings. I ask how the explanation why Jesus could see that deep understanding and delivering to the people. Answer three comrades were: Jesus meets two major orders earlier.

His whole life handed to love the Almighty with a clear conscience and with the conviction and determination mature. And all of this is revealed in its willingness to feel the experience of others. He believes the other person is also like her own, ie, loved by God and therefore to love Him. This is the foundation and core of religious life.

WITH GREAT FAITH
MARK 10: 46-5

Every day we pray. There are people who pray three times a day. There are even five or seven times. In fact, there are quite many times, countless. In our pray, we often invoke this and that to God. Some of our prays are fulfilled. But we certainly have experienced, that quite often, that our prays do not seem to be heard by God. Why not granted? Because we are lack of faith pleading. We must learn from Bartimaeus.

When he heard Jesus was passing by, Bartimaeus cried out, "Jesus Son of David, have mercy on me." He must have heard the story of Jesus. About people who cured him or about the miracles he did. He believed that Jesus would be able to do something for him.

When he cried out, people call it. Silence. They think, "People who ngak nothing is really haphazard tell the teacher? Do you think you are? However, Bartimaeus shouted louder, "Son of David, have mercy on me." He truly believes that Jesus would do something for him. Great faith helped him to continue begging.
Jesus listened to his screams. Indeed, Jesus  always listen to the heart cry of the oppressed. He sees the depth of people's hearts. Jesus told people to call him. Bartimaeus immediately removed his cloak. It was all she owned, but she took it off. It comes with not having anything to Jesus. He came humbly. Only by bringing the faith.

"What do you want that I do for you?" Said Jesus. "Master, that I can see," he replied. Without doing anything, without any rites, Jesus immediately said, "Go your faith has made you whole." Jesus looked at what is in the hearts of Bartimaeus: faith. Great faith! He pleaded with great faith, and the
Lord Jesus hear the petition was accompanied by a great faith.

We perhaps quite often protested to God, "Why are not my prayers answered?" But maybe we rarely ask, "Have I prayed in faith? We are often lack faith in prayer. Prayer Requests accompanied by the great faith of God will be heard.

There are many stories that have proved the truth of this. One of these prayers St. Monica, mother of St. Augustine. Before the converted St Augustine is a living with yippee, a smooth operator, do not believe in God. His mother many years of praying in faith for Augustine to him repent. And indeed, the prayer accompanied with great faith in God listened. Augustine finally converted, and even become the greatest saints of the Church.

Bartimaeus pleading in faith, and God listened. St. Monica prayed with great faith, and God granted it. We pray with great faith, God will listen!

Confirmation of this came out of the mouth of his spiritual director who was upset with the attitude of  Tombo: he's easy to complain when given a specific task or forced to follow certain rules.
"If you can not drink the cup of discipline and not willing to be baptized with the burden of daily tasks such as this, how can you possibly give your life as a whole to save others?" Decisive her spiritual defiantly.
Tombo was groaning in his heart: "The next one when I applied for becoming a public servant. There is no requirement to "have to" drink this cup or baptized that way, or have to give up their lives and so on. Yes, applying to sit on the left or on the right hand of God, does not just apply. "
However, Si Tombo suddenly jerked up.
He asked to himself, "Is it just the priest who could drink from the cup of God and be baptized with His baptism? Is it just the priest who could give his life for the salvation of the public?
"No! I can do everything my way and in my own size. Yes, I will try to be like the Son of man came not to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for all, so I had already become a civil servant, not to be served but to

WHAT DO YOU CHOOSE JESUS OR PROPERTY?
BY: RD. SILVESTER ASAN MARLIN

Brothers and sisters ........,
People who were talking with Jesus in today's Gospel story is an adult. It is said that when he saw Him, he ran to Him even to his knees begging his explanation of what they should be made to obtain eternal life. From the way he met Jesus, it seems this person is a good person. It can be seen from the remarks calling Jesus "good teacher". He realized that Jesus was a teacher who can solve problems that are direnungkannya. When he asked what they were supposed to inherit eternal life, Jesus gives the answer bring him must do the following things: do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, honor your mother's father. Apparently he's not only good but also virtuous. Because, for the first terms on the way of Jesus, he already did.

Problems arise when Jesus asked the second requirement; "go, sell what you possess and give to the poor .... and come and follow me. When Jesus  terms of the latter, he became upset, limp and listless, because a lot of his property. Turns out he's not just a good and pious but also rich. The second requirement is apparently carried weight because he is in touch with what's attached to him. When it comes to steal, kill, lie, commit adultery, reducing people's rights and respect for her parents is easy.

Why? Why would he steal, kill, commit adultery, bear false witness, defraud if he had many possessions? Remember, it was said that he is a good and virtuous, so he was able to implement the first requirement. But the property must he sacrifice? It seemed he had to think a hundred times.

Brothers and sisters ......,
Attachment to certain things will make it difficult to achieve eternal life. The path to eternal life is to be a follower of Jesus. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. But remember, the condition is to remove all personal attachment. Jesus should be first and foremost. Everything else is supporting to achieve eternal life. "So, find first the Kingdom of God and the truth that all these things will be added unto you" (Mathew. 6: 33). If we want to have eternal life, let's make Jesus first in our lives.

If we have Jesus first then all worldly possessions will be referred to us, but if we first have a worldly goods then we will miss Him. Losing Jesus meant losing eternal life. Which one do you choose?

GREET THE FAITH YEAR IN YOUR LIFE
BY RD. BENNO OLA TAGE

Dear friends
Pope Benedict XV1 has determined that as of October 11, 2012-24 November 2013 as the year of faith. Determination of years of faith backgrounds, the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council. And the 20th anniversary, the publication of the book catechism of the Catholic Church. Year of the priest will be closed on the Feast of Christ the Universe, 24 November 2013. Through the medium of the Cathedral Parish wrote this, we lose a few shots pope Benedict XV1 writing about faith in this. We hope, we can contemplate and then generate a personal commitment to renew our faith in the spirit of life in faith.
Pope Benedict XVI said that in faith is a call to a true repentance and always updated to the Lord, the only savior of the world. In life, died and risen, Christ demonstrated His love for us and simultaneously at that time, Christ saves and calls us to repentance and forgiveness of sins (Acts 5:31). Therefore with unshakeable faith, we have believed only Christ Savior of the world. Once again Christ is the only Savior of mankind.
From where we started to believe that Christ is the only savior of the world? Starting from the Word of God: faith that works by love (Gal.5: 6). Faith works by love should be a new criterion for us to understand that Christ loved us and change our lives, and ultimately change the entire human life (Rom.12: 2; Kol.3 :9-10; Eph 4:20-29; 2 Corinthians 5:17).
Dear friends
We are the people who are ruled by the love of Christ (2 Kor5: 14) Do we believe in the truth of salvation? Remember, we are the ones loved ones. And that we are God's love in our Lord Jesus Christ. The love of Christ is what fills our hearts and encourages us to take action to proclaim Christ to others, especially those not yet captured by the love of Christ (Evangelism). And these days, more and more people who do not know Christ. And we have been entrusted with the mandate to: Go into all the world and make them my disciples (Matt. 28:16). And we do not just say woe to me because we can not return  car and home loans, woe I can not return the debt. Woe is me, my exams values plummeted. Woe to me unacceptable to work in a particular agency or company. This is not an expression of faith. With this priest to live in, we ended up with a full awareness of moaning: Woe to me if I preach not the gospel (1 Cor 9:16).

YESUS'S TRUST
Confucius was a wise man once said of mainland China in the turmoil of his day:

A country that only good will be created if the emperor acted like an emperor, minister act like as a minister, the father acted as a father, and a child acting like a child in the household.

This is called the theory of rectification name.
Where any person is required to behave according to the identity he bears. Deviations of identity will only make a country into chaos and eventually destroyed without trace.

Dear friends, every follower of Jesus, and that work on His name was given authority and responsibility to maintain and maintain it.

Authorization was given and nature can only be used for the glory and greatness of the name of the Father.

In addition to the power conferred his followers, Jesus also demanded radical attitude of each His followers. If thine eye offend thee pluck it (Mk 9:47).

This is said because the followers of Christ are hand pointing on safety, foot step and lead others tosafety, and to be the eyes for those who want to see Christ.

Thus, every follower of Christ must manifest Christ who is invisible.

Friend, in fact all of us are given the responsibility and role in our lives every day.

The whole of life is  xtension of the work of the love of Jesus in the world. If you are a housewife stairs, do all your responsibilities in zeal usual.

If you are an employee, do your responsibilities a "radical". Expensive is to maintain that trust and  multioly trust of Jesus.

Develop Jesus confidence and feel God's gift to us. (BS)
