 (James 3:16-4:3; Mk 9:30-37)
"Son of man is betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him, and three days after he was killed he will rise"
In the past, Jesus spontaneously invited people to follow Jesus, there are also some of them spontaneously went along, there were hopes of a decisive historical hero found in Jesus. Quite a lot. And in time, Jesus himself set the 12 people who remain structurally and to be with Him. But the unity of life, there remains in doubt following Jesus, there is sure to leave all his possessions just to follow Jesus, and some end up disappointed.
One thing that is very difficult to make any sense of people who follow Jesus at the time was the preaching of Jesus that He must suffer, when he was the Messiah. Jesus Himself declared it to His disciples. However, direct conversations among the disciples about who was the greatest among them. It is natural and human. But Jesus' answer shows that Jesus was and is not a decision to follow a normal human, but divine in the human nuances.
It should be accepted that there are forces of evil, which do not recognize the goodness of God in this life. This is what evokes lust, which made Adam and Eve were never satisfied with what they experienced. That is the cause of suffering for many people. Because it can be understood that not all suffering is the cross. That need to be accepted as the cross is the refusal of man to the divine goodness. And the cross is Jesus who defeated the power of evil, darkness makes it a divine light. The suffering and death of Jesus ends with the resurrection. And this is the element that distinguishes ordinary cross with the suffering, the cross should be no resurrection. Even the cross and resurrection is a reality with two faces that can not be separated. If there is no resurrection, then it can not be said that the suffering of Jesus overcame evil.
This is not understood by the students, they fail to understand is the cross of Jesus. They are seduced by the concept, and with them the hope of Jesus. They therefore who are the greatest contrasts between them. Interesting that Jesus did not rebuke them, but spoke the truth because it is the closest to the students who are expected to spread his message later. To him they were just people who still need to learn, make themselves the direction they were following him.
As someone who has long followed Jesus through baptism, we are still learning eyes upon Jesus that we follow. Through today's Gospel Jesus shows us that altruism will make a big follower of Jesus. Jesus proved it, his whole life to pursue happiness people, to

If we were to be honest, it is usually quite difficult for us to remove the bad impression about someone who has hurt us, especially when it happened a few times. If so, is it cross or suffering?

Dear friends, today's Gospel reminds us of the consequences of being a follower of Jesus, which bear the cross.

The mystery of the cross and resurrection is the key to the followers of Christ. "If anyone wants to follow me, he must deny himself, take up his cross and follow me". However, it should be understood that the cross is not identical with what is perceived as suffering.

There are many difficulties which are not cross and should be avoided and overcome by the wisdom of life.

The most important element to the suffering of ordinary cross distinguish whether there is a connection to the resurrection.

There is no resurrection without the cross.

We as followers of Christ will experience the same thing, take up our cross daily and follow Jesus.

Brother, everyone has his own cross. Sometimes, if you want to do and start a good work, not everyone is always supporting us.

There are even criticizing and trying to make it difficult.

Dealing with difficult people like the cross. Am I shy away from those two that makes it difficult or do I pay attention to them?

Willing to carry the cross of life that we do not shy away from the people who make it difficult but try to pay attention to them, despite the risk rejected.

When people who I believe have broken my heart, do I hold a grudge or I'm ready to forgive?

Dare to forgive those who have hurt us, it is like carrying a cross in our lives.

May we be given strength to carry the cross like Jesus in our daily lives. Jesus bless us. (ave)

Mark 7: 31-37

Once upon a time Jesus met a man who was deaf and stuttering. The man was taken by some people to Jesus so that Jesus healed him. What is interesting is how Jesus healed the man. Jesus separated it from the crowd so that Jesus could be alone with him. Only after there was entirely no one else except Jesus and him, Jesus healed him, saying, "Ephphatha! Be open. "And the deaf and stuttering was then able to hear and speak.

In healing, Jesus often segregate the sick from the crowd in order to deal personally.

It does look like Jesus personally greet the sick person. He wants to communicate with him. He would like to contact from heart to heart. With personal contact is very clear that Jesus really appreciated him personally. He fully accepted as a whole person, as a person who loved God. That is the way Jesus used.

It is not life that sometimes makes people become ill rather than because they do not welcome and value as a whole person. Now in this day how many people who are suffering from degraded and manipulated others? And for those people, healing will occur only way to appreciate and accept them in full.

In contemplating the gospel, I have seen my life experiences, how God accepts and loves me as personally valuable and intact. And through all kinds of people, God greets me so that I can live happily.

There is only one question, whether I want to be with Jesus who will heal and receive my brothers and sisters who are less noticed and appreciated?

Am I ready and willing to be used by God to be a channel for God's love and healing them? So, how about you?

Our life behavior we can make others to make either label or stamp on us. At least we would be very uneasy to hear the negative remarks from our office colleagues, in the family, at school, in the church or wherever we live together with others. We feel  uncomfortable in this life, not passionate in working or limiting interaction. People who realize that this is a stain in his life, he is in many ways trying to restore its image. Conversely, a positive outlook and rave warmer than those around us will increase the warmth and productivity in us.
The Catholic Church could be labeled or stamped as the Church that is not familiar with the Scriptures. The Catholic Church is seen not based its life in the Scriptures but the Pope's teachings and traditions.
This view is derived from the fact Catholics rarely read Scripture compared to the Catholic Church instead. Or people. Catholics do not take the Bible in the the Eucharist or Sunday. This label is  unpleasant as the Church
who does not know the Scriptures.

The accusation was not always right. The reason is that neither of  pope & bishop  nor the priests' teachings that do not come from the Bible. All Subjects taught in the Church comes from Scripture. But we must admit that in fact, most people are not familiar with the Scriptures.
Word of God has not been recognized as an important spiritual nourishment in the life as Christians. There must be a variety of reasons including reluctance of people to read and ponder the scriptures. Common reasons

Generally speaking, we are afraid of interpreting the Scriptures. Realizing that Scripture has not made the Word of life with very seriously by the people, then in the Second Vatican Council in 1965 issued the so-called dogmatic constitution on divine revelation (Scripture) with the name of Dei Verbum (Word of God). Constitution means this document presents the things which the life of the Church.  In other words, the Bible is the foundation of the Church's life itsefi. In
Dei Verbum No. 25 that clearly specified this statement: In the same token, the Church the Council encourage seriouslyt and all the faithful, especially those who are religious to frequently read religious books in obtaining divine "Glorious understanding of Jesus Christ" (Phil. 3:8). "For no
know the Bible is not to know Christ. "

Council's message to the people is very clear, that as often as possible to read and meditate on the Word of God. Mandate of the council is encouraging the Indonesia  Catholic Church in order to declare the month of September as the month of National Scripture. It's a way to widespread simultaneously throughout the archipelago, the Book scriptures to be read, be shared and reflected together in an environment. Council said: "Then let them gladly face of the sacred texts themselves, whether through the sacred liturgy, whether through appropriate institutions, the blessing and approval of the

There is a lecturer at the State University of leading our beloved country. He is well known as a very simple lecturer. He was performing his duties as a lecturer in accordance with his conscience. He often criticizes all forms of injustice and dishonesty on campus where she worked. As a result, he is not given any position in college.

However, once the audit team of the Commission come to the campus and audit something there. Thus, it opens all sorts of depravity on campus. Those who get involved are at the trial and imprisoned. This is the fruit of their dishonesty. While he who is an honest and sincere person  now enjoying the fruits of true happiness and peace. That is the fruit of the commitment of a true Catholic, loyal to his conscience. He chose to be faithful to Christ.

Gospel that we reflect today reminds us that following Jesus is not easy. To arrive at the knowledge of Christ, it takes personal effort and foremost is always begging mercy of God's faithfulness. Jesus' words about the bread of life that has shaken faith of the disciples so they said: "This saying is hard! Who can hear it? "(Cf. Jn 6:60)

What Jesus said is hard to accept. The disciples knew that Jesus always said and acknowledged as the property of God who came from heaven and that no one is able to experience life with God if you do not give yourself totally to God. From this point, we can understand that what makes a person difficult to be a good Catholic and loyal is not about intellectual but moral demands made by Jesus himself. Catholicism in life we have two very real difficulties. First, Catholicism requires a total surrender to God. Recognizing Christ as the sole leader and king for us. That is true faith. Second, that Catholicism has a very high moral demands. The disciples realized that Christ is the Son of the living God on earth. However, the difficulty they are running what the claims of Christ. Because it is still a lot of people who reject Christ because of the harsh demands FAITHFUL only on His person and what he taught.

There's a simple song but very touching, that sounds like this;

"I want to love Jesus forever. I want to love Jesus forever.

In the mid-2012, the 2012 world Olympic games was held in England. In this event all the countries get involved in the sport competition. Olympic Games held under the motto Altius (higher), fortius (stronger, and Citius (faster).

Motto is against the background by a branch of the Olympic track and field competed in the jump (Altius, higher), throwing (fortius, more powerful) and run (Citius, faster). Competition in this kind of world sports usually result in victory and defeat. To the first winner was given a gold medal as the championship crown.

On this day, the Church celebrates Mary's mother was taken to heaven. This celebration is a recognition of the Church of the mothers received medals Maria.Nevertheless,  heavenly Mother Mary did not get one with the slogan Altius, Citius fortius and.

Mary was not the fastest woman so that she won the 100 meters, nor the strongest woman that can lift 100 kg of iron, or a woman who could pole vault with a very, very perfect in the maximum height in the pole vault. Mother was crowned in heaven not because of its physical ability after defeating many women in the sports arena.
Mary was placed in the top worthy of heavenly glory. For since conceived Jesus Christ, she presented all her body in the work of her Son the soul. This indicated that he was first to hold the baby Jesus' birth, and his last lap carrying the body of the Son on the cross. This is the sign, Her life to the work of her Son. He took part in the salvation plan of God through and in the Son. Until now the Virgin Mary accompanies the Church, the communion of people who came together in the Blessed Trinity.

Overall it caused her mother to live the faith in the power of God. God's power in this song is in response to the minister of Elizabeth's greeting (Luk.1 :46-55).

With eyes of faith, he saw that God sent down the mighty from their throne, scatters the proud heart and sent the rich away with empty hands. This is a very concrete in the work of Christ, the sin of Adam and restored relationship with God is turned on and maintained

Let the whole being crowned by the Olympic kingdom of God: more faith, more hope and more in love.

Everything we see in Mother Mary. In this way, mercy and love of God will save the world through faith, hope and love.

When the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt, during their forty years wandering in the wilderness. During the journey, they were deprived, not having anything but their luggage. In such situations, only God is the only mainstay of them and really pay attention to the people of God. So that the people remain. life, He gave them food while the manna. They also give thanks to God for His gifts were.

Unfortunately, if God is a giver to us and we go to him just to get a gift from Him, we ultimately can only pay attention to what God has given us, we would forget to give thanks to Him and someday we will only ask and complain throughout our lives. That is the reason why Jesus rebuked the people, that they seek him not because they saw signs but because they have been eating bread and they have been satisfied.

This is what happens with the people of Israel after receiving manna, rebelled against God and will eventually die in the wilderness. Any materials though were come down from heaven, not make us better and also does not give us true life. Then Jesus reminded them to work for food that can not perish, but for food that can last up to life. eternal.

Therefore, in the person of Jesus Christ, God gives something new. Bread which came down from heaven was no longer "something"; manna but "someone"; Jesus Christ own. He is the true bread.

This gives the true bread of eternal life to us. But to be able to receive Him, we must take a radical step that is believed in him and held a personal commitment to Him.

Jesus gives thanks food and distributes to Them

Basically, people have a tendency to share with others. This is one of the characteristics of people who believe in God. Some time in July, I was asked by P. Silvester in the cathedral to lead mass in the Kesawan Prayer Community. What is interesting for me is a custom that the host  provides food for the people in attendance. So after the mass there is no returning to the starving people. They ate with great fraternity, intimacy and joy. They shared their daily experiences  as a family is a family of believers who believe in Christ. Not eating and drinking are the main but there is expressed the unity, fraternity and familiarity with each other. There was a glow of life which is shared with others. In the end both the Host and the people who visited the house to experience the joy and excitement.
Father, mother, brother/sister this little experience has also been encountered by Jesus himself. In today's Gospel reading tells the story of Jesus feeding the multitudes. According to the observations of John the Evangelist: One day people flocked to follow Jesus, regardless of the time, so in the afternoon they were hungry. Incidentally where Jesus preached was a deserted place and all the sellers out of the goods wares. There still was a little boy who has five barley loaves and two fish. Five loaves and two fish were taken by Jesus. He gave thanks to God and give away bread and fish to the people. All the people there eat your heart's content and the rest have 12 baskets full. Jews who follow Jesus are very pleased. They think, If Jesus was a king, meaning they do not have to work again during the life of this world. Because of that they forced him to Jerusalem to be crowned the King of the Jews. But He would not even leave him alone into a hilly area
