(Matthew 11: 2-11)
One day a student came to see the teacher The disciple said to the teacher: "I want to devote my self to you!" The teacher replied, "leave first your selfishness, the devotion will happen by itself."
Dear brothers and sisters
Impediment to serve well is self-interest. If people get used to leave their selfishnesses , it will be easier to serve the interests of others.
In today's Gospel we hear about the figure of John the Baptist, who was willingly to leave all of his interests to become a pioneer who paved the way for Jesus, the Messiah. John the Baptist, saw his task as a pioneer for his students to arrive at a definition of "Are you the Messiah who will come or should we expect someone else?", In no doubt contained a Baptist, but more meaningful to their students. That question has a value of preparation of the students, so that they hear themselves from Jesus, who He really is. Jesus' response is kutiban-kutiban of Isaiah's prophecy that indicates that He (Jesus) is the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies. Jesus Christ is not nothing but a fulfillment of man's dream: the blind see, the deaf hear, the dead are raised ...... the poor are given good news. In Jesus Christ, man finds his values. Here men appreciated .....
Dear brothers and sisters,
John is a pioneer who knew Jesus fully. He has led his students to Jesus. Jesus is the goal, he himself is only a suggestion. He is not important, that panting is Jesus, the Messiah. He is just one voice cried out in the wilderness. He's nothing. Therefore, he did not demand anything for himself. His food was only locusts and wild honey. His clothes are only made from animal skin. In his only God that matters. He made God above all things. He did not even bother him. The motto of his life: he has become more remote and the greater God. Then, what about  brothers and sisters? Is God to be number one in the living brothers and sisters above everything else? Let us imitate the Baptist. May God bless brothers and sisters now and for ever. Amen

Our church and/or parish patron is the Virgin Mary was conceived without any stain ( Immaculate Conception ) . Church celebrates every December 8 in each year . Without exception , our parish also celebrates on each of those dates. However , on December 8, is not always coincide with Sunday . More often falls on a typical day . Once seven or eight years before going to fall on Sunday . However, it often happens that the adjacent Sunday where we celebrate.
On December 8, this year is indeed coincide with Sunday . We won't celebrate with feasts activities or competitions which then absorb the cost . Not because of we can not . But well , we are in solidarity with our brothers and sisters who were in a situation of concern because it is still living in refugee situations . Then, if we want to draw with, with these protective celebration or a party ?
First of all let us understand together , that raised a patron saint surely we should be deeply recognizes the holy figures that would protect us . About it, certainly no longer in doubt that we are all very familiar with the Virgin Mary , who gave birth to our Lord Jesus Christ . Mary is given a lot of titles by the Catholic Church ( see Litany of Our Lady in prayer ! ) . Surely these titles are given due recognition to the role of the Church of Our Lady as a boon that has spawned the Savior .
So many things we can learn from the Virgin Mary . Exemplary in purity , precisely because he was recognized as the Church of the Immaculate Conception . The sanctity of life in obedience indeed he receives an important and risky task , but to bring salvation . In addition , her loyalty was indeed very high . This was proven when Jesus was on his way to Golgotha . Although the liver is cut saw cruelty of the soldiers who tortured Jesus , but she faithfully follow Him .
May the spirit and example of Mary , Patron of the Church and our parish , have been digged out altogether . May we all be strengthened thanks to his prayer to always strive to live in chastity and fidelity remain faithful to Jesus Christ though riks are always there in front of our eyes . Happy Feast of Patron . God bestows a blessing to us all . Amen .

Starting this week , December 1, 2013 , Catholics will improvise the Advent . Advent is a wonderful moment to evaluate ourselves before the word of God is presented to us in day by day as well as every day of the week . This year Advent begins simultaneously with the eruption of Mount Sinabung on the ground Kora . For Catholics on the island of Leyte , it is impossible to live Advent and celebrate Christmas like in the previous years . On November 8, 2013 , the area of Tacloban , Samar and Ornoc has been destroyed by Typoon ( cyclone ) Haiyan aka Yolanda .
In this Advent reflection , I am presenting the experience Bedictine missionary nuns in Tacloban - Leyte . Missionary Benedictine Sisters arrived in the Philippines in 1906 . They then opened hospitals and schools in Tacloban . When Typoon Haiyan hit Tacloban there are 16 nuns there . They were all survived .
The sisters made their convent and the hospital as a place of refuge. The sisters tried to care and establish a network for assistance from Manila . They work with joy to alleviate the suffering of others . The sisters became a source of physical and spiritual entertainment .
Benedictine nuns live the spirit of life of St.Benedictus . One st.Benedictus teachings that guide their life is work and pray ( ora et labora ) . In working and praying , all for the glory of God ( Ut in omnibus glorificetur Deus ) . This is the motto of their lives . The sisters testified that through thick and thin , keep the name of the Lord be glorified . In any situation , never left the prayer and work . Prayer and work are two things that are done at the same time will bring to the sanctity of life , endurance and joy .
Ora et Labora is the motto of monastic Benedictine missionary nuns . Every man should have a life motto . The priest has a motto ordination . Sister has a motto in the final profession of vows . Companies or business entities also have a motto . The state also has a motto . Our church also has a motto . Olyimpiade also have a motto . Motto give live instructions , generate motivation . There 's motto, vision and mission of our lives . Motto said that our lives have purpose . Motto region contribute positively to positive character in a state of disaster .
We should have a life motto . Motto will be in our real life if it comes from the Word of God or our life experience with God . The Word of God in Isaiah ,2:1 - 5 , said that the nation has merinduan for peace . Peace be their motto . They laid down their arms and leave the mountain of God . What is the motto of life we are living when they hear the Word of God that reminds us to put on the Lord Jesus as light weapons ( Rm.13 :12 - 15 ) . What is our motto when knowing when salvation of God is at hand ( Matthew 24:37-44 ) .
Let this Advent , we patrikan our hearts with the motto that we dug up from the meaning of Advent and the word of God during Advent . Let it be the motto of the power within us .

(LUKE 23: 35-45)

Romeo Sinaga is a village head of Tongging Sinaga . He was a leader of the gods who has a high self-esteem and likes to "eat Praise " . One day , he was challenged by a member of his family , namely his own father-in-law to justify its case against his opponent . It happened that the head village of his predecessor was unable to resolve the issue .
In-law said , " When will you be helping the family to win this case if not during your power as a head village? His father-in-law often challenged him by these words , "If you do not win me over in this case , do not call and say hello to me as an a father-in-law " .
However , Romeo Sinaga be firm . He really knew that the matter will be won by the opponent side . But the challenge comes for the umpteenth time : " It's useless your position as mayor . What can you do for us ? In fact , we who chose you " .

He felt that his pride was threatened by his family , the village head gave it up . By all means , he's trying to win his father-in-law . However , because he felt himself aggrieved , phak opponents also complained the matter to the District Judge in the Capital City . Apparently, the judge decides otherwise : parents in law lost .
Since then , the authority of the Chief of the village fell . The people no longer trust him . They are just waiting for his term ends .

When Jesus was challenged on the cross , He did not flinch silent . Despite his pride as the Christ , the Son of God and King was challenged to perform a miracle to his escape miraculously , he was not offended , much less tempted to give up . He embankan be firm on the task to him , although with it , it seems he lost his prestige and popularity in the human eye . But , just to be firm in his stance , he became a winner : He is the King of authoritative , full power, the King who has the true glory .
Same challenges and temptations that often happens in our lives . As the Catholic Christians , we are challenged , not only self-esteem , dignity , rank and position us , but also the identity or our identity as Catholics .
In situations like this , we are expected to be mature in determining attitudes . Because " whoever wants to save his life ( self-esteem , prestige , rank , position , popularity) will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it " ( Luke 9,24 ) .

( Luke 20 : 27-38 )

Life after death remains a question mark for many people today. Is it possible ? If possible , how exactly ? Is there any marriage encounter ? Is there a place where we get to know each other , just as our knowledge in this world ? Do I know my father , my mother , brother , sister , wife , husband , uncle , aunt , etc. ?

There are still many other questions . Various explanations about this matter arises . But as believers , we would hold on to what Jesus himself said . Because Jesus was the only one who comes from above , from God himself . Jesus confirms that people who are close to God is no longer married and were married , no longer tied to all what is in this world .
They are quite experienced the glory of God and unity with the other saints and that they are very happy for ever . God is the only supreme value to them and no one else . Then they will always be together and united with God Himself forever . United with God is aneternal bliss ; apart from God is eternal misfortune . Which one you choose , it is important !

Until when food is a necessity for every living creature , including humans . Without the presence of food and the assuredness of life will be threatened . Food really is a necessity that can never be separated from life . It is not surprising , that in order to get food living beings can or should fight and even war .

The situation then raises a question to ponder . Among other things , the extent to which we strive to maintain a presence and the assuredness of food and increase it ? In today's times , it seems the race to build a residential - housing . For the sake of it , a lot of the original location of paddy fields and the fields have been turned into buildings . Hopefully the future can be found and further be developed a way to grow crops on top of the buildings . It's already there , although limited to vegetables and fruits . Hopefully someday in the buildings people can plant cassava , rice , maize and others.

Today the Catholic Church celebrates World Food Day. Through this celebration , we as believers are also reminded of the basic necessities in our lives in this world , without forgetting the basic necessities to achieve eternal life . We are also called to foster awareness of it . Then the collection of Mass on this day we will also be offered in the framework of World Food Day as a manifestation of our concern for our brothers and sisters around the world are still struggling to eat . We also plead , may we all be kept from starving , and may God guide us all towards the welfare .

In this world , let's not just look for earthly food . We not only need to achieve food security . We also need to remember the resilience of our faith to lead a happy life eternal . Remember that prayer is not because we get food , but not for a full stomach and a good meal we will go to heaven . Stomach may be full , but pray do not ever be forgotten . Strive for the welfare and eat well off, well of course it is. But lest we forget that we also strive for lasting prosperity which is also a goal . Remain steadfast in the faith and always survive . Amen . ....DETAILS

If someone asked you , are you a believer ? I 'm sure you are as a Catholic would surely hasten to say that you are a believer . However, if it is followed by a question , " To what extent is your faith ? " Or " How big is your faith ? " Perhaps this question can not necessarily just our responsibility .
Measure of faith , to what extent or for what , indeed, it is not easy to do . Moreover, when we personally measure of faith that exists in ourselves, we can fall in pride or humility . Because, on the one hand we can feel ourselves more than other people , it could be a vanity . And on the other hand we can also feel nothing , it can make us always feel insecure and self no merit whatsoever.
Admittedly , the amount of faith is not our right to measure it and then flaunt it . The more believers actually have more humble . In the spirit of humility and one's faith will shine . Therefore , it is not surprising that Jesus taught in the Gospel today , that even if it we had to do many things , even very good resolution and even then , we still have to say as a useless servant , so what we do is do what we rightfully are doing . The teachings contained in the invitation for us not to brag, including as a success though .
Faith is essentially always full of dinamicsberdinamika . Dynamic faith , we are not satisfied with making a perfunctory performance , but it was always going to develop themselves to the point perfectly . As a reflection question for us is : dynamic masihkah our faith , or we felt it was up to the summit ? May the Lord's teaching on this day to remind us to put our faith throughout our lives is always dynamic . Amen .

Be the restless . Such an invitation is sure to make you frown and shake my head may not receive the mark . Bukankalah man needs security ? Erikson , a psychologist , said that security is a basic human need . Sense of security is needed for mentally - healthy person psychologically . Sense of security that met in someone 's making people thrive in life . We are working to have the materials and live well , to provide economic security . Children study hard so that someday guaranteed future , people build friendship with the rest of the house , neighbors , co-workers and certain friendship . In kehidupanbernegara , we need a political sense .
Spiritually , we believe in God and want to follow his directions , because we need a sense of security , a sense of security both in this world because God is the source of our help and a sense of security in the hereafter , because God promises a haven for us . But security does not mean that we put out the fire anxiety in our lives . In reading Amos , God condemned those who feel in Zion . They enjoy the delights of material abundance . God condemned man lying on a bed of ivory , fatted lamb meat eating , listening to music while drinking wine ( Amos 6:1,4-7 ) . Lord Jesus through the parable of Lazarus and the rich man ( Luk.16 :19 - 31 ) denounced the rich who continue to feel safe on the very real suffering of Lazarus before his eyes .
True , personal egoism , selfishness is a dynamite group ( bomb ) which destroys the unity of the people , nation , culture and even religion . God precisely as observers and also the history of life of Manusa designer ( if people want it disturbed . God reminds us of this danger . Nowadays there is so much suffering around us and in all regions of the world . Poverty parents who make babies abandoned due to poverty . Charges home pain is so expensive , so there are dying without medical slightest touch . Someone living just packed on the edge of the river and every time heavy rains accompanied by floods , they shivered all day and night . Someone not only eat once a day because of diet but because no have enough food .
